Personal Branding Photo Shoot Costs-2025
A personal branding session is more than just headshots—it’s a customized experience designed to visually tell your story. A lot of time goes into planning. Most branding photographers sell packages. Here's what to look for:
✔ Pre-session consultation – We discuss your brand, vision, and goals.
✔ Professional styling guidance – Help with wardrobe selection to align with your brand. Clothes can make or break a branding session so a wardrobe consult is key.
✔ Multiple outfit changes – Variety for different marketing uses. This is key to find out how many outfits will you shoot? Aim for 4-6 different looks. This will give you enough variety for at least a year!
✔ Different locations – Some photographers have their own studio, some only go on location and others a mix of both.
✔ High-resolution, edited images – Most deliver digital images ready for websites, social media, and marketing materials.
There are also potential add ons to ask about:
Is professional hair and makeup included or an additional cost. It is HIGHLY recommended to get professional makeup done.
Do you have all the props you need?
Will you need to book a wardrobe stylist or consultant?
Now that you know what to look for in a Branding photographer, what about costs?
Most photographers charge for Branding in a package based format. Why? Because you need a good number of images for your website and social media. Also, there is a lot of planning that goes into a branding shoot so getting just 2-4 images seems a bit counterproductive after the time and money put into the prep!
Photographers use different pricing models, so here’s a quick breakdown:
📌 Per Image Pricing: Lower session fee ($300-$500) + pay per image ($20-250+ each). Usually the images are in the form of packages with the smallest image package the minimum purchase required.
📌 Hourly Pricing: $150-$500/hr for beginners, $800-$1500/hr for experienced photographers.
📌 Flat Fee Packages: $1,000-$5,000+ for a set number of hours, images, and outfits.
📌 Day Rates: Half-days ($1,500-$5,000), full-days ($5,000-$10,000+).
Every photographer prices differently, so use this as a guide ONLY.
At Colleen Neel Photography, I prefer the first method. I charge a session fee ($345) that includes professional make up and then we review your images 1-2 weeks later and your choose what you love and need to build your brand. Minimum package is 6 images for $750.
IN conclusion, how much should you expect to invest? I'd say a minimum for $1500 for fewer images/shorter time and up to $10,000 for a lot of content with an experienced photographer.
